I’m beyond excited when I get to photograph a newborn of a wedding I photographed years earlier! I just can’t stop grinning ear to ear… and this little lady has some of the most amazing parents and family that I’ve ever met. Shannon & Jon had their wedding in Mexico 6 years ago when I toted my own kids with when they were only a year old and my youngest Jace was only 3 months old. So this wedding was a little extra memorable for me too.

Fall Family Days 2014
It’s been over 7 years now since we started Fall Family Days. Every year we set aside two days at one or two locations in the Denver/Boulder area where families can come to me for some great fall family portraits. They are extra special because we hand-pick locations that we know will photograph amazing for family photographs and always of course hope for maybe a few fall colors as well, or at least a fall feel to your images. This year we are styling the family sessions even more to make them the best family portraits you’ve had yet!
Fall family days is September 13th & 14th, 2014 this year. Locations aren’t disclosed until you book, and each day is a different location.
If you would like to know more, please e-mail jennyb@fototails.com to grab your fall family spot or call us at 720-566-9770 so that we can book your date/time. Always special pricing for this weekend that you don’t want to miss!
SESSIONS ARE VERY LIMITED. We book in the order we receive your calls and e-mails and then when session times are booked we keep a wait list in case there are any cancellations too.
The number 1 way to keep a flower alive.
I’m going to tell you straight off… I KILL FLOWERS. Not on purpose, but if you leave them in my care… well – they don’t last long. And… I’ll attribute that to my LOVE of flowers – you always want what you can’t have, or in my case what I can’t maintain. I find them fascinating! The shapes, the colors and because I can’t grow them or keep them alive for long, I have decided that photographing them and hanging them on my wall is my only option.
So the number 1 way to keep a flower alive? Hang a portrait on your wall in a print or canvas… PERFECT FOREVER.
Go ahead – comment below – what is your favorite flower? It may be the next one I photograph!

My style
Some ask what kind of photographer are you? I don’t like to put a label on my style of photography. I photograph people, feelings, emotion, lights and shadows. I typically don’t think about shooting, I look at my subject, my surroundings and go with inspiration over a checklist. Even in my most planned shoots – they more often take on an entirely different direction once I get to the point of shooting. I’m inspired by everything, I go with what makes me happy – and usually that is the connections that I read from people and relationships. I’m a daytime dreamer and love feeling the rain, the sun, the snow – seeing the shadows, and feeling connected with how other beings live and love.
Strawberry Lychee Yogurt Parfait
Yogurt parfaits are one of my favorites! What’s not to like? You get to have your favorite yogurt and top it with fruits and granola and whatever it is that you like. This isn’t much of a recipe, I know. But it’s meant to be paired with my Crunchy Honey Almond Granola recipe so I hope that you will enjoy both =)

Pure imagination
I have always been in love with this song since the first time I saw Gene Wilder sing it in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory when I was a kid. It is a great set of lyrics to think about when you are in a creating mode. I’m so lucky to have such an amazing team of “creatives” that help me play and make images while having fun.
These are some images from our Alice in Wonderland styled shoot…. a perfect theme for imagination.
Lyrics to Pure Imagination –
Hold your breath
Make a wish
Count to three
Come with me and you’ll be
In a world of pure imagination
Take a look and you’ll see
Into your imagination
We’ll begin with a spin
Traveling in the world of my creation
What we’ll see will defy explanation
If you want to view paradise
Simply look around and view it
Anything you want to, do it
Wanta change the world?
There’s nothing to it
There is no life I know
To compare with pure imagination
Living there, you’ll be free
If you truly wish to be
If you want to view paradise
Simply look around and view it
Anything you want to, do it
Wanta change the world?
There’s nothing to it
There is no life I know
To compare with pure imagination
Living there, you’ll be free
If you truly wish to be

Egg in the hole
Maybe egg in the hole won’t change your world, but fried egg in a hole made in some bread is one of my favorite things for breakfast lunch or dinner. Best of all it can be done about a million different ways – so never grows old.
You may also know it as Egg in the basket, Betty Grable Eggs and has been adapted to things like “toad in the hole” for the sausage dish make in its likeness. Really, all it involves is a piece of bread with a hole removed and an egg in the center and then cooked with a little butter.
So here is just a slight variation from the traditional.
1 slice of bread
1 egg
1/2 of a sliced avocado
Salt & Pepper to taste
Bacon cut up into pieces.
That’s it – so yummy and no directions required – you assemble it how you wish and fry it in a pan. I fight the normal and always put the “hole” to off center – so there is more room for the “extras” like bacon, scallions, chives, jalapeños, basil, honey … etc. Cook the egg to your liking – soft, over easy, sunny side up, or hard.

Don’t miss any time you can take photos of and with your family.

My grandmother passed many years ago from cancer and this is the last photo I have of her, my mother and myself. It doesn’t matter who takes the photo… or the fact that there is a nice JELLO advertisement in the background!lol But it does matter that I have this image. It is one of my most cherished photos. Yeah – of course I wish we had nice professional portraits of the three of us… but this will due and just a reminder of how AWESOME she was. My grandpa is fading, but still around… but still love photos we have of him too.
